Hello and welcome.


My name is Helen Pereira Bellio. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) practicing from my therapy room in Maidstone in Kent, covering the surrounding Medway towns as well as providing online counselling reaching clients further afield.




Here at HPB Counsellingit is my mission to help people blossom. I am committed to providing a safe, ethical and confidential service. I work with individuals and couples of all ages, presenting all types of issues that arise as they navigate their way through life.


I believe it is the quality of the counselling relationship with a trusted, reliable companion, that allows you to connect with your own wisdom and capacity for self-understanding, enabling you to find your own way forward, working through your issues and towards your desired goals. As that companion walking alongside you on your journey, I work in an integrative way tailoring different counselling theories to your individual needs and personal circumstances, believing there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling.


The theories I practice are humanistic, focusing on your values and self worth; psychodynamic, discovering how your unconscious thoughts affect your current behaviour; cognitive, looking at how your thoughts and perceptions can affect your feelings and behaviour; existentialism, exploring meaning through a philosophical perspective.


I have a keen interest in attachment styles and how we carry forward our early life experiences into adulthood, and the implications this has on our relationships. 



Integrative Counselling


The aim of integrative counselling is to promote healing and facilitate wholeness. Ensuring that every part of your mental and emotional health is restored and maximised, it can thus help you to effect positive change in your behaviour and relationships so that you can be the very best version of yourself.

Much of this can be achieved through talking, enabling you to identify any factors in your life that may be perpetuating problems or causing concern. Working in tandem, we can bring these into the light, to help free you psychologically and recognise specific triggers that may lay behind destructive or disruptive patterns of behaviour.

Through this awareness, you will be able to create a healthier mindset, where positive feelings are brought to the fore, and the more informed choices you make are beneficial to the promotion of your interests, empowering you to move beyond your perceived limitations and closer to your goals.
